NATURAL

It's not magic - it's nature! Aquaponics employs the same principles as the natural world. The AquaSprouts Garden provides the perfect platform for allowing anyone, anywhere to discover the potential of aquaponics, while bringing a bit of nature indoors. Think about it — fish and plants can comfortably coexist in the same ecosystem. As fish mature and produce waste, plants use that waste as their nutrients to grow, while also cleaning the tank’s water. So why not put those fish to good use?

BEAUTIFUL

The Garden’s design is simple, freestanding, and virtually maintenance-free, making indoor gardening and a beautiful aquarium accessible to anyone regardless of experience with fish or plants. It eliminates the need for traditional fertilizers using the same principles that recycle wastes in natural ecosystems, making upkeep as simple as feeding your fish.

IS THE GARDEN DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN?

We created the Garden specifically for beginners and those who are looking for an easy-to-use aquaponic system. The Garden doesn't require any specialized tools nor do you need any previous aquaponics experience. In addition, we provide a written step-by-step guide to help you set up and maintain your Garden. Our team is also dedicated to providing the best customer service possible to assist anyone who may have questions or need help.

WHAT CAN I LEARN FROM MY GARDEN ?

The Garden is ideal not only for growing fresh herbs and plants, but also for teaching. Our Garden is ideal for demonstrating a variety of concepts in chemistry, biology, and ecology. It’s an especially great tool for keeping kids engaged, a living model ecosystem that they can interact with as they watch the transformation of the energy in fish food into waste, plants, and ultimately herbs, greens, and even fruits for them to enjoy. Be sure to check out our blog for more articles on understanding the principles behind aquaponics and using your Garden to teach a variety of subjects!

DO I NEED TO CLEAN THE AQUARIUM?

In aquaponics, you don't have to clean your aquarium as often as you would in a traditional aquarium since the plants help to remove fish waste and excess nutrients from the water. However, cleaning the fish tank occasionally to remove uneaten food and debris, and performing partial water changes (usually 10-20%) on a quarterly basis, ensures optimal water quality and prevents mineral salt build-up.

In addition to maintaining the water quality, it's important to tend to your plants in the AquaSprouts system. Regular pruning helps promote healthy growth and prevents overcrowding, allowing the plants to thrive. You can also sow new seeds periodically to ensure a continuous harvest and variety of fresh produce.

While aquaponics is a self-cleaning and self-sustaining ecosystem that uses natural processes to clean the aquarium's water, it's still necessary to keep your aquaponic system in good condition to ensure its continued success and health.

HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE AQUARIUM/FEED THE FISH?

To accommodate various aquarium accessories such as an automatic fish feeder, heater, and other equipment, we have designed the AquaSprouts Garden with a convenient 2-inch gap between the back of the grow-bed and the aquarium. This gap provides ample space for feeding your fish as well. If you ever require full access to the aquarium, moving the Garden is a breeze.

Well, we just got our third AquaSprouts setup. Our dining room is the ultimate experience when the table’s not a grow station. 😂 We are loving our Aqua Sprouts.

Wish they'd make one for my 55 gallon

I've had this setup for about 9 months now. I've done aquariums for a while now and decided to work on growing food using aquaponics. I have a 10 gallon tank of guppies that I used with this setup and a 55 gallon tank with several breeds of fish. Both are planted with live plants. You can see the earlier and later stages in my pics. My 55 gallon setup is not as pretty and clean looking as the top 10 gallon system. This is partly due to the exposure to the sun from outdoors. The top currently has tomatoes and spinach growing. The bottom is still a working experiment. Regardless I love having this system. The only drawback is that my guppies tend to get too close to the pump and get injured from being sucked against it. As for evaporation I've found that I have to replace 2 gallons of water a week in this system and 4 gallons in the beast. Overall the system is great.

This is the future - All fish tanks should be designed like this

I agree with the majority of other posters here:1. Setup is very easy2. Works great, exactly like it is supposed to3. This product is very expensive for what you get - you have to purchase your own 10 gallon tank, substrate, heater, and light.4. This is not for beginners who don’t want to learn and take the time to test water quality, appropriate plant choices, etc. That being said, you definitely should purchase a water quality testing kit that tests the pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels. If you don’t, you will wind up wasting a lot of money with dead fish. Here is what I love the most about this product and why I give it 5 stars despite it being way overpriced:1. This is not the first aquarium I’ve had and I can tell you that the garden works way better than any other filtration system out there. I’ve had the system set up for over three months and after testing the water consistently for weeks, with the garden fully stocked it has kept all of my water levels completely stable and exactly where they are supposed to be. The tank water stays crystal clear and no additional filtration is needed other than the garden.2. Although this setup is designed for a 10 gallon tank only, it is adaptable to other tank sizes if you rig it correctly. The pump is powerful enough to where you do not need to buy an extra one. As you can see in my second photo, I upgraded my 10 gallon tank to a 25 gallon, and the powerful pump in this system works just as great!3. It really is a great conversation piece, everyone that comes over asks about it and is interested in it.4. I know some people will disagree with my comment here, but idc, we all have an opinion and here is mine: this garden setup makes the tank environment so stable that you never have to change the water (I’ve verified this by extensive and daily water testing). This is the best part because I hate changing water out of a tank, it’s so messy! But it’s even worse to have a dirty tank because it’s mean to the fish. But with this system, *no* water changes are needed. The only time I deal with the tank water is when I add water because some of it evaporates, which is natural of course. And in my case, I upgraded to a 25 gallon tank shortly after purchasing it, so additional water was added then. But that’s it! Fully self-sustaining, or at least so far!Update: I’ve now had this system for 7 months and I still give it 5 stars. In fact, with a little rigging I upgraded the 25 gallon tank to a 75 gallon tank and I swear the little pump built for a 10 gallon keeps the 75 gallon very clean too! I’ve had the 75 gallon setup for three months :)

This product is crazy amazing!

While I am a novice when it comes to the aquarium world, I have a serious indoor garden. This product is the best of both worlds. Be ready to put the time in on proper preparation. Proper setup takes a while but the guide is very detailed. I am using live plants in the aquarium so have to follow the steps closely. I have learned to also research the plants that thrive in a "clay" environment. Thankfully no plants have died in my learning curve...... Very very awesome and thought provoking product, Thank you! Ed
